Girls Weekend

What fun we had! my sister and i and our daughters got together for a "mother daughter/sister/girls weekend" and what a fun time we had! since im the oldest i got to choose the "color" for the weekend. i picked "pink" since it all started out that it was a "girlie" weekend! and what would be more more fun than pink and TIARAS!!! oh my word we had the best time! people stopped us all weekend asking questions and taking our pictures lol now im sure hoping it wasnt for all the wrong reasons lol. but we had the best time. we had a suite at the Pelican Grand on Ft.Lauderdale beach what a BEAUTIFUL place too! the suite was wonderful and alot of room for all of us and all our pink things!! lol and all the tirars!! lol and we had a ocean view and lots of service too! we were treated like "Princesses" and we pretended to be for the whole weekend! i hated to leave i miss my sister so much and we only see each other 2 times a yr. which isnt hardly enough! were planning another weekend for next Spring and i hope my other sister gets to come this time! and my sil and her girls too. the more the merrier! and i hope my youngest daughter gets to come too now that would make our retreat the best! you see my youngest daughter lives in Seattle and were in Fl. so its not easy for her to just come on over lol. so thats our hope for next time! it sure was fun. if i figure out how to link more photos ill do that lol havent figure out all this stuff yet! have a great day and remember do something nice for someone today!

SUM SUM SUMMER TIME! well its here already temps in the 90s and climbing! wow i cant believe its so hot already.
Well school is out and my little boy graduated from 5th grade. He will be going into Middle school in August and growing up! hes gotten huge! Graduation was fun the kids had such a good day. i do have pictures but nothing uploaded yet. im soooo far behind on updating my blog much less doing pictures lol just stay tuned ill happen lol. anway i asked him how he felt and he said "a little scared, a little nervious and alot excited" so i guess that sums it up!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

The reason for the Season..... the birth of a Savior!! Jesus!!! His name is WONDERFUL!!

wow has the day gone fast! here it is Christmas night all the packages unwrapped and put away (yeah right!!!) lol. funny how you plan and stress and hope everything is just perfect and then presto whamo its OVER!!! lol..

we got up early had some coffee and then when Kimberly called we went with the camera and video cam to her house (next door) and captured the grandsons Christmas! and ofcourse Petey the grand puppy!! it was so much fun! then we came here for more presents for the grandson and he said.. "im sure glad im the only child" lol.. hmmm wonder why??? he got so many nice things i cant rem all but im going to try.. a new bike shiney and bright lime green!!! yep only my grandson would love one that color!! and he got a new portable dvd player. and some dvds and oh yeah a George Strait cd and lots of other things i cant rem! lol and lets see dh and i got a new set of portable phones and some new slippers, new perfume and lots of other things i cant rem lol.. anyway the best gift of all was knowing our children and grandchild were all safe and healthy!

We had a wonderful lunch with my Uncle Dicky and Aunt Theressa. she had the best food!! Conk peas and ham and some fried squash, deviled eggs,mac and cheese (not from a box!!) and some collard greens!!! yummmmmmmy i love my greens ;) and dd brought some pot salad. it was to die for!! two wonderful deserts and ofcourse we all ate too much!! lol. thats what holidays are for right??? lol

is it really time for Christmas already??? seems like just the other day the kids went back to school!!! yikes time is flying by leaving me NO time to do anything!
well its been quit awhile since i updated this blog! and i have to say alot has happened since then. i prob will NEVER rem it all but heres some lol.

i made a tutorial for a Halloween dress for little girls. (never got it posted) and i thought i did real good with the photos too!! so i guess ill have a jump on next yr!! ;) and lets see. i have been sick. but doing alot better now. i know one thing for sure lol.. i PROMISE TO DO MY DUTY.. well i promise to do better in the future!!! i will NOT wait next time i get sick. i tried to doctor myself (any of you do that???) and it didnt work. i went to the Dr. and he gave me antibotics and some steriods and told me to do the neubulizer and PRESTO im better!!! lol. i have to rem that next time!!

im having "family" dinner here Saturday night and im serving Taco Soup, and snacky stuff, cookies, cake etc. im excited i havent had alot of family in a long time. 3yrs ago i had my family for Thanksgiving and thats the last time. so this should be fun! we all drew names a few mos ago. so we will also be doing presents!!! woohhooo thats the best part lol. i will post pics when the party is over.

Zachary my grandson had DARE graduation today. thats the drug abuse program the Sheriffs office does for the Elem. schools mainly 5th graders. it was good. and they were all so proud. i had to get up early for that lol. it even shocked grandson!! lol.

wow where did the time go???

wow!! its the middle of October and i havent posted an update! wow how time has flown by! i have been battling Vertigo for yrs. and its hit again! :(( i hate it and when it happens i dont do much reading or posting on the internet. its wicked for those that dont know. and i pray you never get it! but its some better today. so im trying to declutter my desk and catch up on emails. lots of things to delete too lol. then i happened to think.... i havent posted to my blog!! lol.. so heres what i have been up too these last few weeks!! lol..
hubby and i turned this house upside down looking for my laptop! he used it and hid it from the precious grandson ;) and he cant find it!! so he decided to start in all the closets and man o man what a mess!! i think i showed a pic of the mess lol. anyway its all cleaned up now and still NO LAP TOP!!!! so now what?? he swears he put it on top of the admoire in our room and the grandson cant reach that even standing on a chair... so now im thinking who wouldve taken it?? no one comes in here lol... so i guess ill never be able to buy another one :((
then we had a snake... yes i said a snake.. (my worst fear of my life!!!) come in under the french doors in my work area!!!! so i havent even been in there to watch tv!!! lol.. but dh went thru the whole room bless his heart and no more snakes!!! no more anything!!! so coast is clear again!!! i missed my own tv!!! lol...
and we had a bear yep a biggggggg BLACK BEAR!!! about 300lbs worth come up and get in daughters trash again drag it to the woods and stood there going thur it looking at us!!! lol.. it was sure beautiful. i didnt have my camera or id gotten a picture.. the same evening we saw it in her back yard.. it went to moms house (people renting her house) and stood up and looked in the screen porch window!!!! id died lol... but anyway i called about this one and they said .. "secure your garbage".. lol. im like dont you relocate them and she said NOOOOO lol.. im like ok.. cool now we have a big ole bear and its friend!!! there are TWO OF THEM!!!! lolol.. so stayed tuned we might find tigers next!!! lolol.. im kidding!!! i sure hope we find nothing lol..

Vero Beach was wonderful! if you didnt mind the "rip tides" and "undertows" and did i mention "crabs" lol. it was fun i was so relaxed i thought hubby was going to have to get a huge "puddy knife" and scrape me off the balcony chair!! lol.. the breeze was wonderful it was in the 80s and just perfect. water was freezing but it didnt matter to the younger folks!! no way was i going to spend hours putting on a "fat suit" to get into "ICE COLD " water lol. so my sister Kathy and i just watched lol.. and laughed and laughed! the sites to behold were something else. dh even told us during his trip into the ocean the rip current got him and pulled his shorts off!! lol.. now that was a hoot for sure!! Kimberly our oldest daughter was with him shes 38yrs old and she was hysterical lol.. she was so thankful she didnt see this lolol.. she said if shed seen it shed been blinded for life and on a therapist couch for many years to come lolol it was funny and we had a good laugh!!!
that night Kathy and sat on the balcony and watched things going on!! what sites we saw! lol thats another story in itself ;) all i can say is STRANGE things happen at night lol.. we went to bed about 12:30 and they were all still partying!!! lol...

Fall cleaning???

Fall cleaning?? yuck lol.. but were doing it lolol.. just finished LR family room and master bedroom, and bath..lol.. ohh man what a chore! one minute im sitting on the couch in the FR reading a wonderful book (the Mitford Series by Jan Karon) minding my own business and the next thing you know i said something really STUPID to my hubby!!!! like.. "why dont you bring me all the stuff out of the closet and ill go thru what we dont wear anymore and get rid of stuff" WRONG!!! he did!!! lol.. so for 3 days i have been sorting and hoeing out stuff!!! 3 bags of trash and mix matched socks lol. (thats another whole story!!) and then 5 big bags of things that dont fit!!! now let me just say dh wasnt happy when he saw all those things with price tags still on them!! can i help that i buy things and forget i have them and then when i see them again ... they dont fit??? not my fault...lol... but it feels great to be done with that!!! woooohhoo i should be dancing but im too tried lol.. on to the kitchen next!!! lol.. but that might have to wait till next week!!! lol.. were heading to Vero Beach on Fri. to visit my sister! i cant wait!! ill be sure to take pics for yal !! im going to post a pic of what my Family room looked like the first day!!! lol.. youll love the mess!! but its gone now!! i know my friend Vanessa will have a fit. shes a clean freak and im so not lol.. but this did get done lol.. i need a pic of the after lol.. instead i took pictures all morning of Ms. Bella!!! lol..

Cake Receipe

2-cups flour
2-cups sugar
2-eggs
1-tsp vanilla
1-tsp baking soda
1/2 -tsp salt
1/2-cup pecan nuts (chopped fine)
1-large can crushed pineapple (20.oz)

mix all the above well with spoon. pour in greased 9x13 glass pan. bake at 350 for 40 mins.

Icing

1-stick of butter
1-cup sugar
2/3 cup milk
1-cup nuts (pecans chopped a little)
1-cup coconut

cook in saucepan for 5mins at medium boil (stiring constantly). Ice cake while warm.

Mountain trip

My trip to the mountains was wonderful! im so glad i went!!! Thanks Robin for asking me to go! it was so much fun! i walked my self silly! and i had such aching bones at night but it was worth it all!!! we left on Wed morning and got there about 2:30pm and just visited with my sister in law Barb. She had been keeping the girls Mackenzie and Sidney for about a month while mom Robin worked. They were so excited to see their momma! and she was so excited to finally get those hugs and kisses again! its been a long few weeks!! we all visited and then the girls and Baka (Barb) made us dinner and a wonderful cake.. it was a great receipe. ill post it next. it has coconut not my favorite thing but let me tell you what i did..lol. i raked the coconut off and ate it lolol.. it was wonderful and im a cake aholic!!! the next day we went to town to thrift stores!! i saw this old really old sewing machine i took a pic to show yal. id loved to had it but i knew better! ;) dh is screaming to down size and i didnt need to be adding too the collection!! lol.. but it was cool looking! then on Friday we went to Waynesville NC. oohh what a beautiful place! it was so nice what a great little town to shop in! lots of stores and places to eat lol.. ofcourse Barb knew where all the good stuff was. we shopped and ate all day! took some pics of the little town too (ill put in a slide show for you) it was so relaxing and beautiful there. mountains in the background and hustle and bustle of the little town where i was sitting lol.. you that know me know ill find a place to sit!!! lol.. i bought a few things for my daughters there and then we headed back accross many mountains back to Barbs cabin. now let me back up here... this was the first time i seen where Barbs n ew cabin was. man o man was it nice!! she gave me her bedroom with a view of the mountains that was unbelieveable!!!! i just laid there and looked out the glass doors!! just in aweeeeee of what God had made! what a view!!! thanks Barb for that wonderful room! (pics on slide) ok back to coming home from Waynesville. we were give out and went home for dinner. Barb made some dinner. then on Sat we went to the flea market another Thrift store and then back to the Antiqe mall for me to pick up some old crocks i found!! i didnt get a pic of them yet.. and to good ole Walmart!!! lol.. then we went back to the cabin for another movie night and more food!!! lol.. it was such a good time!! i told them it was Summer Camp for me because id never been to a summer camp before and this was so much fun it had to be like one!! lol.. i sure hope i get invited back again!

The Mountains

Im heading to the mountains (Franklin NC.) in the morning! wooohoo!!! my niece is going and asked me to ride with her. im excited but i usually dont like to go anywhere without the hunny!!! lol.. but im out of here! im packing now and leaving early hope to have pictures of my trip when i get back so ill post when i get home! hope to see some new items and get some inspiration.. although i swore im taking time off lol.. talk to yal when i get home! unless i find a computer lol..

im done!! stuff is heading to the store tomorrow!! wooohooo lol.. im give out! but its finished! now im sitting here thinking... lol. this wasnt suppose to be florals!! but somehow when i started inserting stump dolls into containers i just ended up putting moss and picks of flowers. it looks great and they all have a light in there that lights up so i guess we shall see if it sells. lol. i sure hope so... alot of work there!!! lol.. well now im going to tidy up from the Fall stuff and sweep up moss and venture on to the next thing! lol. my friend Vanessa is trying to convince me to do Christmas things now. but to tell you the truth im not wanting too. now im sure when the lady that owns the store hears that she wont agree with me!! lol. but im just ready to clean up messes and just paint memory boxes and maybe some floor cloths and start enjoying the planning of the holidays and baking and cleaning lolol. now you all know im delirious right?? lol. im defintely NOT one for wanting to clean lol. and i dont want too. but i said wed have Family Christmas party here. soooooooooo i do have figure out a way to entertain and not have everyone sit around all this mess lol. i need to take pictures and share this mess lol.. Home from Camping

Well we had a wonderful weekend, and i sure hope yal did too! We had really nice not so bad weather lol.. it was hot but with a really nice breeze. It came a down pour several times but just perfect for sleeping! ;) and the misqutos were out but i had my trusty can of spray! and it worked! only got bit a few times instead of hunderds of times lolol. Zachary came to stay with us on Saturday and stayed with us till we came home. He had a great time on his bike and making skid marks on the concrete ;) what boys do to have fun! lol. We got home about noonish today and i took a nap till 8pm tonight so i guess ill be up all night reading! lol.

Looks like we got home just in time to prepare for another storm! Hannah is heading this way now. we have to get some more water, and some non-parishables. Praying itll turn before it slams Florida! well its good to be home! and i will be posting some pictures this week of things i have been working on. heres a sneak peek. lol. have a wonderful week!

Camping Trip

Labor Day is coming! and so were heading out in the morning for the campgrounds! pray that the storms will stay away from Florida so we can have a whole weekend away lol. Zachary is coming with us this time as Kim is going to a concert in Tampa. I have NO idea whos shes going to see??? but shes going. Ü
Packing has been fun (joy joy joy) lol. hubby went to the grocery store today to get all the groceries for the trip. (he was going to surprise me) and he forgot several things and i was so thrilled i didnt have to go that i said "WHO CARES" lol.. we can always pick that up on our way out!! lol. ANYTIME i dont have to go to the grocery store im a happy "camper" plus he did all this before i got up this morning!!! lol..
The bikes will be loaded in the morning (not for me lol i dont pedal) lol.. i only watch them ride their bikes and hope they dont fall off lolol (hubby and Zachary). i have my book ready and some cards thats my idea of exercise!! and ofcourse with all the BUGS in the state of Florida they will all be out in great force this weekend! so i have plenty of insect spray! i hope it works this time!! its a new kind. i have tried them all. and just for thought. the generic Listerine (Equate) doesnt work! i tried that already and got eaten alive from noseeums!!! those are wicked little sand flea type critters here in the South!! horrible critters too!
well yal have a safe weekend and keep the flags flying high! pray for the troops and pray for the country!

well school is back in session today! wooohooo last week the children went one day and then Tropical Storm Fay came and she took forever to leave Florida!! so there was no school the rest of the week. but its open today!! Ü

a few weeks ago Kim and i went to Gainesville school shopping for Zachary (hes in the 5th grade now!) we had a bag from Old Navy that said whatever you can fit in this bag is an extra 20% off lol.. well that bag was packed!!! and on the way home we found this wonderful JUNK place!! and we stopped and shopped! lol. we got out of the car and Zachary went off one way i went another and Kim she went up the middle! and we all could see each other but this place was HUGE and man o man was it HOT!!!! i found a bowl as soon as i got out of her car. and then i continued to collect!! lolol. it was so much fun and ofcourse Zachary found 2 phones within minutes. but in the end i had the most treasures! lol.. some i plan to paint and use for the store and some im not sure what ill do yet but i had to have lol..

Birthday presents!

well my day came and went! it was a great day thats for sure! i got to sleep in until 11am and i grabbed my coffee and came out here on the computer to pick up where i left off this morning at 2am!!! wow this template for this blog was much harder to do than the ones for ebay..lol. but as i was pulling out my last silver hair.. a dear new friend Cheryl (tidymom) sent me an email that she would help me!!! praise the Lord!! she got it all fixed up and shes a real life angel! thanks again Cheryl!
now for my day. it was wonderful my family all called. and i was so happy as always to hear from them. and then Kristi sent me a present from Seattle and it got here today!! wooohooo herbal teas and candy, and a foot massager thing with balls and it felt great!! i love it all thanks Kristi and Jess! and my oldest daughter Kimberly gave me a much needed PEDICURE!! wooohoo i cant wait to go this week! and my grandson Zachary came in with a soft taco from Taco Bell!! he knows his Nanny loves food! lol..and then my sister in laws came up with there hunnys and we had BBQ in town and came out here for CAKE and coffee. and more presents!! lol.. i got books,clothes,cups,socks, perfume (Charlie ill talk about that another time lolol) and a picture frame with my picture of me in my blow up pool when we went camping a few weeks ago!!! and NO im not sharing that pic lol.. its a hoot though!! thanks Sue,Sheila, and Challan!! i loved everything and i especially loved the visit! cant wait to do it again! and my hunny said.. "you have the card get something for yourself" so im thinking...hmmm does that mean round trip tickets to Hawaii ??? or earrings??? lol..

Happy Birthday to me!!! wooohooo another year older. lol.. just what we want when we get this old lol. but its a day i have always enjoyed because.... CAKE!!!! and its all mine lol. i LOVEEEE cake! as you can see in my picture! my mom couldn't cut it fast enough for me! lol. i rem she drove all the way to Miami bakery from our house in Hollywood just for this cake because she knew i loved those big cakes from that bakery. lol..

A few years later we went to get my cake and this is what happened .....

My poor Mom Bless her heart she was driving home with 3 of us. there were NO seat belts then let alone car seats! lol. and my brother was small and he came over the seat and landed in my cake! well not all of him but his foot!! i was so upset lol. ( we had plenty of cake) but at the time i wasn't happy! lol. (my sister Kathy and i are 18mos apart then my brother Billy is about 7yrs younger than me and my youngest sister Bonnie is 10yrs younger than me.) wow I'm old lolol. Its amazing how you remember silly stuff . but i rem the exact thing and i was so young and even the smell of that Holsom Bakery cake! lol. so here it is another birthday many many years later and im still enjoying my CAKE!!! (when my blood sugar allows it lol) so im sure praying it'll be low before we have cake today! wish my mom was here to help cut and serve for me. but shes in heaven and im sure she would rather be there. but boy do i miss her!! ill just enjoy my day with hubby and Kimberly and Zachary. and the in laws are coming for dinner and cake! lol.. ill post later what i get for my birthday besides cake lol.. have a wonderful day!

GRITS.... what it means to me... GIRLS RAISED IN THE SOUTH.. lol.. and greens.. well well if your born and raised in the South you will know what that means!!! fresh wonderfully home cooked GREENS!!!! yummmmmy!!! that would be "collard greens" or "turnip greens even mustard greens!!!" now i know you wonder how we can eat them..but they are wonderful!! you must try them!! ill post how we cook them soon! and last but not least CORNBREAD!!! the most wonderful thing ever! if you've never had southern cornbread fried in a pan you've missed it all!!! and these are all of my favorite foods lolol.. we haven't even mentioned yet CAKE!!! lol. and WATERMELON!!! ohh my word... i love food and those that know me know all about this wonderful problem i have lol.. but since this is just the begining of blogging I'm sure I'll reveal all my favorites!! i have to say this is my favorite verse. i have alot of favorites but this one speaks volumes!

today is my first real day of blogging and its going to a sweet sorrow one for sure. our senior pastors wife Ms Clara went to be with the Lord on Wed night and her service will be today at 11am. she was a one of the sweetest ladies i have ever known. such a sweet spirit. she had been battling the dreaded Alzhimer's and it was so sad seeing her feel lost and not sure where she was and what she was suppose to do. but she remembered me! although she rem me from 2yrs ago when we went to the mountains lolol.. shed always say "its so good to see yal back. we have missed you while you were gone" now that is exactly what shed say for the last 2yrs! but at least she remembered me! lol.. i will always remember her. i am so glad i got to know her and she blessed my life! prayers for the Estes family. and bless you Ms Clara for all the love you showed everyone. we will celebrate your going home to be with the Lord.
